Plans in the works for March 17 Lucky Dogs St. Paddy's Day Pawty

You may already know that Wilderness Trail Distillery (WTD) graciously supports the Danville-Boyle County Humane Society Community Cat Program. WTD sponsors the Community Cat Van so Cody, DBCHS’s community cat specialist, can safely transport community cats.

The distillery also has benefitted from the Community Cat Program. Cody humanely trapped more than ten cats to be vaccinated and fixed before returning them to their home at WTD. Because the cats are sterilized and vaccinated, they do not reproduce, fight, or spread disease.

Instead, they’ve become a part of daily life at the distillery. The cats keep pests at bay and prevent new cats from moving in. It’s safe to say that the fine folks at WTD are fans of felines!

But did you know that WTD also loves dogs? That’s why we’re hosting the Lucky Dogs St. Paddy’s Paw-ty to benefit DBCHS on Friday, March 17! Join us for a rye whiskey barrel pick, live music from Jonathan New and Rachel Crowe, and Piggin’ Out food truck and WTD cocktails for purchase. The food truck will be on site 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

In addition to a shamrockin’ good time, you can help DBCHS find homes for dogs who have been at the shelter far too long. It’s a bunch of blarney that these doggos don’t have a family yet!

Ace, Chunk, and Maggie are just a few of the many fabulous dogs looking for their pot of gold. The best thing you can do is adopt one of them! If adopting isn’t in your immediate future, DBCHS will gladly accept donations to sponsor adoption fees. Finally, spread the word to your family and friends and share the dogs with your social network. Every dog deserves a loving family of their own. Let’s make Ace and his friends lucky dogs.
